  • Tatone at the top according to Wine Enthusiast

The already very rich palmarès of the Tatone Terra d’Aligi is now enriched with a new, important recognition.

According to Wine Enthusiast, one of the two most important magazines in the world dedicated to wine, the Tatone 2016 deserves an evaluation of 91/100: a score that places it in the small circle of wines judged to be excellent, that is to say the top of the production worldwide.

Here is how Alexander Peartree, for Winemag (the online edition of Wine Enthusiast), describes the Tatone 2016:

Dense aromas of brandy-dipped cherries and blackberries meld with firm doses of tobacco, anise and cardamom in this sultry red. The full-bodied palate is rounded and supple in feel, with concentrated dark berry and plum flavors that are lifted by a mix of sweet and savory spices. A firm webbing of tannins holds it all together, never detracting from the fruit. Drink now.

  • Masterclass Cerasuolo in Canada

On October 28 and 30, trip to Canada to participate in the tasting event “A Tasting of Wines from Italy / Une Dégustation de Vins d’Italie”, organized by the ICE: Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies.

On the occasion of the first stage, on the 28th in Toronto, our Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo was the protagonist of a particularly followed and appreciated Masterclass, an evident sign that this type of wine is increasingly meeting favor and interest from overseas consumers.

The second event took place in Montreal on Wednesday 30 October, and the enthusiastic participation of the attendees confirmed that Canadians have a penchant for Abruzzo wines!

  • Masterclass at MWW 2019

On Wednesday 9 October we attended the Milan Wine Week with the Masterclass “The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo trilogy of the Frentane hills”. Three fascinating variations on the theme of a great Italian red: the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo of the Frentane hills.

“Every wine, regardless of the market to which it is addressed, is born from an idea and develops with its own personality.” Thus introduced the masterclass Vincenzo Spinelli, commercial director of the company. And in fact the three wines presented – Montepulciano Tratturo, Montepulciano Riserva Val di Fara and Tatone Terra d’Aligi – represent three fascinating variations on the theme of a great Italian red by blending, vinification, aging and organoleptic characteristics.

The differences between the three labels, even on the basis of their evident familiarity, were masterfully told by the sommelier Riccardo Stebini, who led the tasting. Stebini constructed the narrative using an original metaphor, which saw in each wine a different friend and with a well-defined character: thus, if one was the young impulsive but lively and enthusiastic, and if the other personified his reflective friend, mature, with whom to spend a nice evening conversing, the third – the Tatone – was instead the great friend who finds himself after a long time, with whom you want, and you can, do everything.

The evident involvement of the participants gave a clear measure of the success of the masterclass, which for many represented the first thoughtful meeting with a great winery and with some of its most representative wines.
